About Me

I am a qualified counsellor (FdA Counselling), prior to which I worked as a therapy radiographer in the NHS for 20 years. My experience of working closely with patients, families and carers of those with cancer offered me an insight into the experience of grief and loss as one of the many transitions faced in life. I have a particular interest and experience (professional and personal) in working with neurodiversity (ADHD, autism). I am also interested in women’s experience of the menopause and how counselling can support them (and their partners) during this time.

I am passionate about walking and connecting with nature and know that this has helped me to maintain my own positive mental health. I recognise how important moving and being outside can be in the management of anxiety and depression. I enjoy meeting new people and working with clients in a collaborative, empathic and non-judgemental way.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) meaning that I follow their ‘Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions’ and ‘Professional Conduct Procedure’.

‘I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it.’
